General Course Options

Use the General section of the Course Opage page to specify the default settings for Courses in your LearnCenter. On the ControlPanel:

Click on the Options menu to expand it.
Click Course.
Scroll down if necessary to view the General section.

If you want WBT Course attempts to expire at the LearnCenter level, select the Expire Attempts check box.
Choose Days, Months, or Years from the Expire Attempts After drop-down list, and type a number from 0 to 365 in the Expire Attempts After text box to specify the number of Days, Months, or Years until expiration takes effect. If set to 0, no expiration occurs.

See LearnCenter Expiration for Completions and Attempts for more information on this feature. The Expire Attempts check box and Expire Attempts After drop-down list do not display if the Multiple Attempts feature is not enabled.

If you want WBT completions to expire at the LearnCenter level, select the Expire Completions check box. Choose Days, Months, or Years from the Expire Completions After drop-down list, and type a number from 0 to 365 in the Expire Completions After text box to specify the number of Days, Months, or Years until expiration takes effect. If set to 0, no expiration occurs.

The Expire Completions check box and Expire Completions After drop-down list do not display if the Multiple Attempts feature is not enabled.

Select one of the following from the Allow Course Preview drop-down list:

Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, Yes is used.
No - to not allow you to preview a previously completed Course and instead attempt the Course.
Yes - to allow you to preview a previously completed Course.

Select one of the following from the Display Feedback Form drop-down list:

Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, After Every Course is used.
Never - to not display a Feedback Form after completion of a Course, regardless of the Class' or Course's value for this setting.
After Every Course - to display a Feedback Form after completion of every Course.
Never During Class Session - to never display a feedback form during a Class session.

Select one of the following from the Allow Exit on Next drop-down list:
Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, Yes is used.
No - enforces the User to keep experiencing the next Course until there is no Course logically next or they have reached the end of the Course or Class.
Yes - provides a message to the User to continue to the next Course or exit at the last page of the Course, only if there is another Course after.

Select one of the following from the Keep Session Alive drop-down list:

Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, Yes is used.
No - to not keep the session alive while a User is experiencing a Course.
Yes - to keep the session alive while a User is experiencing a Course.

Select one of the following from the Scoring Behavior drop-down list:

Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, Always Update is used.
Always Update - any score that is recorded is reflected towards the Course's tracking record.
Retain Highest - any scores that are equal to or lower are not reflected in the LearnCenter Course tracking record.
Retain First - if a score is already present for the current Course, it will not be overwritten by any subsequent scores the User may achieve. This ensures the first score is always kept in the Course's tracking record.

Select one of the following from the Show Information Bar drop-down list:

Inherited - uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If parent LearnCenter is default, Yes is used.
No - to not display the Course information bar.
Yes - to display the Course information bar.

If you select Yes, a text field displays. This field accepts HTML Code. If you add HTML for this field, make sure it is well-formed and uses start and end tags. Taleo Learn strongly recommends that you avoid using JavaScript™ code, as doing so could break the software code on the page when the messages are displayed to Users. See Course Player Information Bar for additional information.

Select one of the following from the Display Completion Certificate drop-down list:

Inherited – uses the value from the parent LearnCenter. If the parent LearnCenter is the default, No is used.

The Inherited option only displays in a sub LearnCenter. The Inherited/Default (No) option only displays in the root LearnCenter. The Inherited hierarchy setting functions as follows:

If the Course/Class has this setting specified, it uses the specified setting. If it is not specified, it checks the sub LearnCenter setting.
If the sub LearnCenter has this setting specified, it uses the specified setting. If it is not specified, it checks the parent LearnCenter setting.
If the parent LearnCenter has this setting specified, it uses the specified setting. If it is not specified, it checks the setting of the root LearnCenter.
If the root LearnCenter has this setting specified, it uses the specified setting. If it is not specified, it uses the Inherited/Default (No) setting.

No – to not display completion certificates post completion of a Course or Class if there is one mapped to it.
Yes – to display completion certificates post completion of a Course or Class if there is one mapped to it.

Click Save.
